A Day of Joy and Belonging: Our Racial Equality Funfair!

A simple funfair can be so much more than just games—it can be a powerful lesson in belonging. That's exactly what we saw on March 20, when we partnered with a wonderful special school to host a racial equality funfair for its non-Chinese students. It was a day dedicated to exploring global cultures, celebrating diversity, and creating joyful shared experiences.

A Journey Through Cultures

The room was a vibrant tapestry of laughter and discovery as students from primary to secondary levels explored the activity booths. They brought cultural landscapes to life with colour, pieced together national flag puzzles, and focused their creativity on writing Chinese calligraphy. A cosy reading corner featured our special bilingual books, where students could proudly read stories in Chinese alongside Urdu, Tagalog, and Hindi. Every station was an invitation to have fun while celebrating the rich diversity of our world.

One Canvas, Many Hands: A Symbol of Unity

The heart of the funfair was a collaborative art booth. Here, students stamped their colourful thumbs on a single large canvas. As the day went on, these individual prints came together to create a vibrant and beautiful piece of art. It was a living metaphor for our community: a stunning masterpiece created by many unique and individual contributions, showing that we are truly better together.
