The Opportunity
Driven by the Christian call to love our neighbours as ourselves, CantoGather is a Hong Kong charity founded in 2021 to build one loving CommUnity where every neighbour belongs — across cultures and communities.
We bring Cantonese language learning and intercultural education together so that children can participate fully in school life and build meaningful relationships across cultures.
Our work is guided by our ABC Model:
-
A — Advance Cantonese Confidence & Competence
We make Cantonese accessible by building students’ motivation, confidence, and foundational competence so they can connect with peers and participate fully in classroom life. -
B — Build Intercultural Competence
We help students practise empathy, respect, and curiosity across cultures, nurturing a “we” mindset in school. -
C — Connect the Community
We support parents with survival Cantonese and equip teachers with inclusive, culturally sustaining practices so the whole school community grows as one across cultures.
We currently partner with primary schools across Hong Kong, supporting students, teachers, and families through programmes that strengthen connection, confidence, and community.
